Using the The Watch Forum Photo Gallery is easy!

There are only two type of page: an Index Page that displays folders and thumbnail images and a Slide Page that display a full size image. Each is described below.

The Index Page

Along the top left hand side, you have navigational links: the first two are to RLT Watches and The Watch Forum respectively. The next set of links are known as breadcrumbs and indicate where you are in The Photo Gallery folder hierarchy. You may see something like "Photo Gallery >> 1.Watches >> B >> Bulova Accutron" indicating that you're currently in the the Bulova Accutron folder and how you got there...but these are also links, so if you want to jump back to the "B" folder, just click it!

Over on the top right hand side are links for Feedback (tell us what you think!), Contact (email the webmaster), Links (links to other useful or interesting sites) and Help (this page!).

Next are either:

  • folder icons that indicate how many images are contained in the folder and its sub-folders
  • image thumbnails plus a description of the watch (the description is derived from the image filename)
  • both of the above
You can click on both the folder icon or the watch thumbnail. With the former, you'll get taken to another Index Page for this folder; with the latter, you'll get taken to a Slide Page for the watch.

The Slide Page

The top navigational links on Slide Page are the same as those described for the Index Page.

In the centre of the slide is the main watch image. Either side of the main image are 5 or less thumbnails: those on the left are the previous 5 thumbnails in this folder and those on the right are the next 5 in the folder. You may click on these thumbnails to jump to that watch.

Above the main image on the main title bar are additional navigational controls: the small box with 9 squares in it will take you back to the Index Page; the other type of buttons allow you to scroll backwards or forwards to the next watch. Over on the other side of the title bar is text indicating how many watches are inthe current folder and the number of the watch that you are currently viewing.

Below the main image is a table with one or more rows. The first row will display the basic information about the watch; this is derived from the filename of the image and will therefore be very limiting. The second row will show much more detailed information about this watch if it is held in the Photo Gallery - Note: currently this is not held so this row will not show. The third row displays Image Exif Data if it is found within the image file: this included data like camera model, shutter setting, aperature setting, date, flash information and much more.
